Movie Review: War Of The Worlds

Filem ini mengambarkan pula possibility that aliens memang ada dan setelah beberapa juta tahun, mereka mendiamkan diri, tetiba pulak bumi diserang for different possible reasons.
War of the Worlds, walaupun menceritakan kisah typical alien invasion, ianya concentrates sekitar Ray Ferrier (Tom Cruise) untuk menyelamatkan keluarganya daripada ancaman aliens tuh semua. Pada awal cerita, dia adalah seorang lelaki yang amat relax, seorang “working class”, hidup pun terpisah daripada keluarganya sendiri, tanpa tujuan hidup yang sempurna. Dah la camtuh kan, dia nie jenis arrogant. Tak mahu menerima the fact that dia lah yang merosakkan rumahtangganya sendiri. Tetapi of course la kan, apabila the bala bencana macam ini berlaku, dirinya yang serba kekurangan tu, jadilah seorang hero kepada anak-anaknya. Manakala dunia pula…. Maybe ini kah the end of the world? Boleh ker manusia berlawan dengan aliens yang sudah difikirkan mempunyai technology yang canggih (OK kita ignore la sekejap the fact that ada agaknya yang tak percaya aliens nie wujud).
From the film trailer yang me dah tengok, especially dunia yang berkecamok diserang oleh mahluk asing, movie effectnya memang bagus. Dengan bunyinya, memang pergh power, bom bom semua meletup jenis boleh pecahkan telinga. Apakan tidaknya, directornya Spielberg yang memang famous dalam membuat cerita berunsurkan jenis fantasy thriller: Jurassic Park, ET, Men In Black, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Evolution, Schindler’s List.

~ Spielberg against the World! or not, this is the film of the year, a new arrival to modern cinema, but this time no friendly ET, we got menacing Martian killers all set to destroy the world, these butt ugly aliens kick ass, and the challenge is only for Cruise to keep his family from saying goodbye to the world. Full of action and special effects, it is a traditional Spielberg movie that gives a fun opinion about the end of the world, taken on from H G Wells masterpiece. A must see film that might even become a trilogy as rumors make their way. it is the film everybody is gonna want to see, spectacular reunion with the new ET generation, probably Spielberg's first horror
